Save a workbook as a template - Microsoft Support
Open the workbook you want to use as a template. Click File > Export. Under Export, click Change File Type. In the Workbook File Types box, double-click Template. In the File name box, type the name you want to use for the template. Click Save, and then close the template. Create a workbook based on the template.

Save a project file as a template - Microsoft Support
Here's how to make a template. Click File > Export. In the File Types section click Save Project as File. In the Templates section, click Project Template. In the File name box, type the template name. Make sure that Project Template appears in the Save as type box. Click Save.
